About Kearny
The annual Kearny Farmers Market opens towards the end of June and is in it's fourth season. The Kearny Farmers Market is located on Kearny Avenue, between Bergen Avenue and Afton Street, and will run every Thursday, noon to 6pm, through October. The primary commercial and shopping areas stretch along Kearny Avenue, which is considered Kearney's "Main Street".
Transportation
Kearny has access to a number of highways including the New Jersey Turnpike, Interstate Route 280 and the Garden State Parkway. The Town is within a few minutes of the Hudson River waterfront, Newark International Airport, Teterboro Airport, and Ports Newark and Elizabeth.

There are four Pre Kindergarten-8 schools in Kearny, Franklin School, Lincoln School, Schuyler School and Washington School. There are two Pre-K to 6th grade schools: Garfield School and Roosevelt School and Kearny High School for grades 9-12.
